Beaches Hideaway

 

It was a special afternoon in Jo's hidden backyard retreat. The weather report indicated rain but it was more like a heavy mist most of the time and the temperature was perfect for dining al fresco in a sheltered  nook. Vegetables and fruit were centre-stage as we started with a zesty gazpacho, and had a beautiful fruit salad for afters. Delicious and exceptionally healthy. Thank you to Jo for inspired hosting. 

Next we will meet at my place to talk about Daughters of the Bamboo Grove by Barbara Demick.  This will be on Wednesday, October 14 at noon. 

We made a choice for our November book - Whistler by Ann Patchett, and a plan to meet at Susan's on Wednesday, November 18 at noon. 

Let's remember that the public library hosts interesting events, including a Salon evening with Patrick Radden Keefe, the author of  London Falling on Monday September 14 (already sold out).

Also Daily Bread Food Bank, will host the first mayoral debate of the 2026 election on Monday, Sept. 14, at 7:00 p.m. at 191 New Toronto St.
